Description and photo from Bob's Computer Museum...

In a way this was the machine that started the pocket computer boom of the late eighties. An 8 bit machine, the size of a large calculator, with an A-Z keybaord, the Psion II could not be described as elegantly styled!

All the Psion models used a small LCD screen, this XP model has only a two line display, and 32K of RAM. Later models (LZ and LZ64) had an improved four-line screen and more memory. All the Psion machines featured the BASIC-influenced programming language OPL (Organiser Programming Language) which is suprisingly good! Simple diary, database and time-keeping functions are included. Two ports on the underside of the machine allow RAM, ROM or EPROM cartridges to be fitted. A wide range of software was available on ROM.
